Train Travel in Sheffield

When you want to get in or out of Sheffield by train should find it a simple and straightforward experience due to its location in the UK.

In terms of getting to the major towns and cities in northern and central England, many are around an hour away by train, including Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham.

If you want to get to and from the capital, Sheffield is on a direct train route from London, if you travel from St Pancras station. The journey takes around two and a half hours and the service is operated by Midland Mainline.

Sheffield is also well connected to UK airports with a direct train from Manchester Airport [map] and easy access to Gatwick, Heathrow and Leeds Bradford, making it the ideal way to travel for business commuters.

Sheffield’s main train station, is close to Sheffield Interchange and Sheffield Hallam University’s main campus [map]. Once you are at this station you can take the tram or the bus from the nearby Interchange to get where you need to go.
