Budget Restaurants in Sheffield When you’re looking to make your money go a little bit further, there are several eat out options in Sheffield that offer decent portions for your pocket change.

Taking advantage of the ‘all you can eat’ offers is a great way to get a good feed on a budget, and at the No 1. Oriental Buffet [map] you can do just that. The lunchtime buffet as a range of Chinese dishes that you can pile high and devour with ease, without having to worry about anything too exotic creeping in. The lunchtime buffet costs around £5 but if you looking for some inexpensive evening dining then there’s also a “grand buffet” available.

‘All you can eat’ is also an option at Jumbo [map] on City Road. This eatery offers a simple canteen style dining area with some of the best buffet food in South Yorkshire – in fact this could be one to try even if you do have a full wallet.

For good food on a budget you can also try Singapore Dosa Cuisine [map] on Abbeydale Road. This place is great for both vegetarians and meat eaters alike, as you can get a filling meal for two for £10.

If you like a taste of the Orient, but prefer it noodle style then there are a couple of places you can try, but if you’re on a budget try the Vietnamese Noodle Bar [map]. This family run restaurant on London Road is open for twelve hours a day so when you need noodles, they’re on hand with a variety of tasty hot dishes.

When your taste buds start to crave the flavours of Italy but you don’t have the money to pop across for some antipasti, try BB’s Italian [map] instead. Located on Devonshire Street, you’ll find pizza and pasta dishes at a price that won’t make you choke, and in an atmosphere that will make you feel right at home. And as an additional bonus it’s a “bring your own” restaurant so you’ll probably be able to afford a cheap beer or two to go with it!

Nonnas [map] on Eccleshall Road is another Italian option. Although not quite as cheap as chips, it still offers great value for money without feeling like you’re eating out on a budget. Here you’ll find good food, both in terms of quality and flavours as well as a welcoming atmosphere.

When in Sheffield, a cheap curry is always an option. The city is packed with Indian restaurants most which offer an affordable variety of food. As one of the student favourites Balti King [map] has plenty to interest those on a budget, however it is also popular with visiting celebs. You could also go for Seven Spices Balti [map] on West Bar or the Kashmir Curry Centre [map] on Spital Hill.
