GO Bus

Bus Travel in Sheffield Sheffield’s bus and tram services help millions of commuters get to where they want to go, whether it’s getting to work on time or exploring some of the city's attractions.

Sheffield is part of South Yorkshire, which includes Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley and many other towns and villages across the area. Although there are several bus companies in the area serving these communities they are all coordinated by the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, and information on bus times can be found on the STPTE website.

The main bus station is known as Sheffield Interchange and is located to the east of the city centre close to the train station. From here you can get buses around the city centre or further afield to local villages and the Peak District.

Tickets for bus travel can be bought when you get on the bus, just tell the driver where you’re heading. However if you have a full day of sightseeing or South Yorkshire exploration planned then it may be worth getting a bus pass for the day. There’s also an ‘explorer’ ticket available which allows you to travel on the trams, trains and buses.

If you are travelling to Sheffield from further away than South Yorkshire then it may be better to opt for a coach. National Express connects Sheffield to most of the major cities in the UK and coaches can be taken from Sheffield Interchange on Pond Street [map].

For more information on National Express services to and from Sheffield go to the National Express website or call them on 08457 505050.
