GO Shopping in Nottingham

Shopping in Nottingham With 1,330 shops to choose from including the city’s very own Paul Smith and plenty of familiar high street names, Nottingham is one of the best places to go shopping in the UK.

It’s the city’s great combination of shops, from market stalls to designer outlets and department stores, which keep pulling the crowd of two million shoppers every year.

Nottingham has two shopping centres, the Broadmarsh Centre [map], which has many high street shops and plenty of children’s activities, and the more upmarket Victoria Centre [map], where you’ll find 120 different shops, including House of Fraser, Jane Norman, Woolworths, Next and Top Shop.

This centre is open seven days a week, with late night shopping on Wednesday, and has 2,700 covered parking spaces, which is great when you’re shopping in the rain.

Attached to the Victoria Centre is the Victoria Market, which boasts more than 300 stalls selling everything from food to household goods.

For a more traditional shopping experience, head to Beastmarket Hill [map] in Old Market Square, which has an array modern shops hidden behind an original Georgian frontage, or Derby Road [map], which is renowned for antiques and specialist shops offering furniture, art and gifts.

If you’re a designer label junkie then a trip to Bridlesmith Gate [map] will keep you busy for hours, as this area is packed to bursting with top notch fashion retailers. Designer Paul Smith [map] opened his very first shop there on Byard's Lane, and that has now been joined by the likes of Hobbs and Ted Baker.

Alternatively, for gifts and household items head to the trendy Lace Market district.
