Golf in Norwich

If you’re a keen golfer then make the most of your trip to Norwich by heading to one of the many golf courses in and around the city.

Set in picturesque countryside about nine miles north west of Norwich city centre, Weston Park Golf Club [map] is a fabulous parkland, 18-hole, 6648-yard course. There is also a driving range along with pitching and chipping greens.

Wensum Valley Hotel Golf & Country Club [map], which is situated about five miles out of Norwich on the way to Taverham is another option for your golfing action. Here you’ll find two 18-hole courses; the Wensum Course is a parkland, 6037-yard course, while the Valley Course is 6223 yards. There is also a covered floodlit driving range and putting green.

Champion golfers in the making may prefer to opt for Marriott Sprowston Manor Hotel and County Club [map], which is home to a new £1.6m championship standard golf course. The parkland course, which was designed by Ross McMurray of European Golf Design, measures 6,527 yards and has more than 75 bunkers and water hazards. There is also a 27 bay covered driving range, a putting green and bunker and chipping practice area.

Just on the outskirts of the city centre you’ll find the Royal Norwich Golf Club [map] on Drayton High Road, a mature parkland course with 18 holes and a large practice ground.

Also worth a look is Eaton Golf Club [map], which is located about a mile from the city centre and offers an 18-hole parkland course of 6118 yards, while the De Vere Dunston Hall Hotel and Country Club [map] on Ipswich Road has an 18-hole USGA parkland course with many water features.

Finally, Barnham Broom Hotel and Golf Club [map] is set in 250 acres of beautiful Norfolk countryside and has two superb 18-hole courses: a 6495-yard Valley Course and a 6603-yard Hill Course. Here you’ll also find the acclaimed Barnham Broom Golf School.
