GO The Morning After in Liverpool

Morning After Relief in Liverpool If you need something to ease an aching head or just fancy a hearty breakfast before heading out for the day you’re in luck, because Liverpool has plenty of cafés that cater for early birds.

If you’re looking for a proper full English breakfast in funky surroundings then head for Caffé D’Oro [map] , the ideal place to find a cure for a hangover. With an excellent range of coffee, and a breakfast of sausage, bacon, egg, tomatoes, beans and toast on the menu, you should be feeling fine again in no time.

Situated on Bold Street, the cafe has bright, modern decor and also serves pizzas, pastries, baked potatoes and burgers.

In the midst of the city’s main shopping area you’ll find Pudding Bowl Café [map], which serves a varied selection of breakfasts, vegetarian meals, and, as the name suggests, some great desserts. A great place to chill out, this café has a light and airy feel to it along with an abundance of greenery, wooden floorboards, high windows and large mirrors.

One of Liverpool’s best-loved eateries, O’Brien’s Irish Sandwich Bar [map], provides a good breakfast menu, which includes bacon and cheese bagels and a hot Irish breakfast. Situated on Castle Street in the heart of the city centre, it is a hugely popular place to grab a bite to eat to help you recover from the night before.

If you can’t face a fry-up and would rather enjoy a continental breakfast in nice surroundings, then head for Café Tabac [map], which has great views of St Philip’s Church. This café is where you can relax and read the Sunday papers with a delicious coffee and croissant. It attracts a wide range of customers, from students and tourists to businesspeople and shoppers.

Another café worth trying for a decent start to the day is the Hole in the Wall [map], which is hidden away on School Lane. It has a smart and clean décor with a multitude of mirrors, and offers a menu of baguettes, quiches, toasted sandwiches, baked potatoes and cakes.
