Guesthouses in Liverpool
looking for a friendly welcome and a good fry-up then
Liverpool has a wealth of guest houses to cater for your
Many of the city’s guest houses welcome families
and people travelling in groups, so let’s check
out what Liverpool has to offer.
Located just three miles from the city centre in the
heart of the magnificent Sefton Park [map]
area, you’ll find a number of guesthouses, including
Blenheim and Redcroft.
Overlooking the lake at Sefton Park, Blenheim Guest
House [map] is a wonderfully restored Victorian villa and was once
home to rich merchants and shipping magnates. In more
recent times, the early 60s to be exact, it was the home
of the Sutcliffe family, whose son Stuart was the Beatles’
bass player pre-Paul McCartney.
Just a short walk away you’ll find the popular
Lark Lane area, which has many pubs and restaurants,
while Blenheim’s bar is open all day and meals
are served between 6.30pm and 8:00pm.
It may not have a Beatles connection but the Redcroft
Guest House [map] is ideal for guests who are looking for a peaceful
retreat in an attractive setting. Located within the
Sefton Park conservation area, this impressive Victorian
house offers spacious accommodation, including single
and family rooms. A television lounge is also provided.
For a family-run guest house in the Waterloo area of the
city why not try the Woodlands Guest House [map] for comfortable, no-frills accommodation. This Victorian
home has lots of characters and offers nine bedrooms,
although no double rooms. However extra beds can be provided
and the rooms set up as requested.
If you’re visiting Liverpool for the racing and
want a base close to Aintree then you’ll find a
suitable and affordable place to stay at Orrell Park
The guest house has 11 rooms and is only four miles from
the city centre so you can also visit Liverpool’s
main tourist attractions without too much hassle.
For a guest house that is close to the motorway but not
too far from the sights of the city, why not check out
the Real McCoy [map] in Childwall. Situated near the M62 motorway, this is
a small family-run business surrounded by beautiful
woodlands and is on a good bus route to the city centre.
There are a handful of good pubs and restaurants within
a short walking distance and the well maintained rooms
provide a comfortable base for discovering local attractions.
Also located close to the city centre but in a leafy suburb
is Home-Leigh Guest House [map] in Watertee, which has ten rooms available.
