Fine Dining in Liverpool If your ideal night out involves a bit of star spotting while enjoying fine food and delicious wine, then you’re in luck because Liverpool has a stream of restaurants that could be right up your street.

For a truly luxurious time with great cuisine and wonderful views head for the docks where you’ll find some extremely popular restaurants.

The Blue Bar and Grill [map], with its ‘lite-bite’ menu downstairs and a la carte selection upstairs, is a good place to try, particularly if you like dining with celebrities, as it is a favourite among footballers and local actors.

A two minute walk away you’ll find Est Est Est [map], which is another fine eatery with a good choice of pizzas, pasta and gourmet-style meals. It has an extensive bar area with seating outside overlooking Albert Dock and a separate restaurant area. But be warned it does get very busy at weekends so be prepared to wait for a table.

Heading back into the city centre there are plenty more top-class restaurants to choose from including the ever-popular 60 Hope Street [map]. Decorated in funky vibrant colours this sophisticated dining experience offers a wide-ranging gourmet menu, along with lighter bar meals, coffee, wine and cocktails.

For Italian-inspired top-class nosh pay a visit to Filini [map] on the ground floor of the Radisson SAS Hotel, which offers delights such as carpaccio of beef with basil ice cream and Italian salamis with pickled mushrooms and rocket.

The Pacific Bar and Grill [map] on Temple Street is also worth a look, what with its cosy seating areas, low lighting and candlelight, it's great for both celebrations or meals-for-two.

Along with a huge cocktail menu and light meals, there is a restaurant downstairs serving a range of contemporary Asian food, which makes this place very popular indeed.

Situated near St Luke’s church in the heart of Liverpool is Bijou [map], a highly cosmopolitan and intimate restaurant offering excellent cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. Diners can choose from a la carte menu, which has popular British cuisine with international influences. There is also a good selection of wines and champagne available.

If you’re just looking for a light meal but in a funky and dynamic surroundings, then try Modo and Roccomodo [map] in the city centre. With its plush sofas, cool wall murals, great selection of cocktails and small restaurant area, this place has become a huge hit with football stars and pop singers.

For those who fancy eating in style in suburban Liverpool then get along to Jalons [map] on Smithdown Road near the Penny Lane district. Along with a diverse and delicious menu this restaurant and bar also offers live entertainment from pianists and a resident guitarist.
